Course Overview
The 2-Day (12-hour) Z Endorsement Course combines classroom learning with practical demonstrations to give you a complete understanding of air brake systems.
What you’ll learn
- How air brake systems operate and their components
- Identifying defects and performing system checks
- Safe operation techniques to prevent accidents
- Hands-on air brake exercises using classroom tools and a commercial air brake-equipped vehicle
Schedule
- Day 1 (8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.): Classroom instruction using air brake boards and practical demonstrations
- Day 2 (8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.): Written and practical testing; some outdoor time with commercial vehicles
Outcome
Upon successful completion, participants receive a certificate to add the Z endorsement to their Ontario driver’s licence within 5 business days. You must visit a DriveTest Centre within 6 months of completing the course to officially have the endorsement added.

Prerequisites
To register for the Z Endorsement course, you must:

- Pay the course fee in full (cash, debit, or credit)

Cancellation policy:
- Cancel one full day or more before the course: Refund minus $40 administration fee
- Cancel day before or day of course: Course fee forfeited

- Late arrivals are not permitted per MTO regulations
